The current negotiations on the future of temporary employment and social security payments in Spain have not come up with concrete solutions so far, El Pais reports.

“The government and the social partners re-affirm their will to advance in these negotiationsâ€VbCrLf, the Spanish government said in a public statement. The negotiations between the unions, the government and the Spanish Confederation of Employers' Organisations (CEOE) were almost derailed last week due to utter disagreement by the three parties.

The government is now trying to revive the negotiations about removing the veto on allowing temporary employment agencies (ETTs) to operate in sectors that are regarded as dangerous such as the construction industry and the chemical industry. Temporary employment agencies are currently also not allowed to operate in the public sector due to the Unions’ refusal to co-operate.

According to CEOE the most difficult subjects have not been discussed in previous meetings. However, according to the Unions “everyone is working very hard in order to reach an agreement before the end of July.â€VbCrLf
