Spain - Female temporary employment seekers use the internet

21 July 2009

In a recent research report published by Randstad Espana, 52% of women use the internet when trying to find a job. On the other hand, 58% of the people who have contacted Randstad offices in the last 6 months were men.

The staffing specialist sees this as another proof that women are on average more computer literate than men who seem to prefer traditional methods of contacting staffing agencies and potential employers.

There has also been a slight change in the average age of people who use the internet for finding work. Whereas in the last Randstad study on the same subject the average age of internet job seekers was below 30 it is now 30.1 years.

However, internet literacy appears to be higher in the large Spanish metropolises. Madrid accounts for 11.9% of people who made internet contact with Randstad followed by Barcelona with 8.9%, Seville with 2.7%, Valencia with 2.4% and Zaragoza with 1.7%.
