Spain – Employment rate for under 25’s reaches second-highest rate in a decade, Randstad finds

The employment rate for professionals under 25 years of age in Spain stood at 66.5% in 2018, the second-highest rate in the last 10 years, according to a study from Randstad Spain.

The 66.5% employment rate was the highest since 2008’s rate of 71%, this was then followed by five consecutive years of declines falling to a low of 45.1% in 2013. The rate has grown steadily in the past five years to its current 66.5%

Randstad also found that that the higher the educational level, the higher the employment rate was among workers under 25.

Among the sectors, the service sector that employs the most professionals under 25 years old with more than 800,300 workers of this age group.

The biggest increase was seen in the construction sector which saw a 15.6% growth in the employment of workers under 25 years of age. This was followed by services (8.5%) and industry (2.9%) sectors.
