25 October 2016

Randstad in Spain has published its annual hiring forecast ahead of the Christmas season and it shows that the Christmas campaign generated 338,300 contracts in trade, hospitality and logistics and transport , representing an increase of 11.5% compared to 2015 when 303,345 contracts were signed. This figure means that the Christmas season of 2016 will be the best in terms of recruitment of history in Spain.

The spike in recruitment in Spain usually begins in November and extends until the end of January.

Luis Perez, director of Institutional Relations of Randstad Spain said that fixed-term contracts meet the needs of the labour market in Spain now.

“Fixed-term contracts are the right solution for companies that need to increase their production due to the increased demand, and it is the right solution for workers too, since they have an ideal opportunity to enhance their employability and pave the way for stable employment. "

Randstad forecasts that growth in recruitment will happen in all regions across Spain with the Cantabria, Andalusia and Aragon regions set to see the biggest increase compared to last year.

The sectors driving job creation during the Christmas season are trade, hotels and transport and logistics, which are directly related to increased consumption and tourism in this period.
