Saudi Arabia: Recruiters target Portuguese nurses

19 August 2019

Vitae Professionals, an agency dedicated to recruiting nurses, announced that a Saudi Arabian hospital is recruiting more than a hundred nurses from across Europe.

"Lisbon will once again be the scene of a major recruitment event, this time for the placement of nurses. One of the most prestigious hospitals in this territory wants to recruit a large number of nurses to complete its team and for this purpose comes to Portugal to interview more."said Vitae Professionals in a statement.

"Salaries start at 4,500 euros a month (tax-free), offer accommodation, 47 days of annual leave, and travel is completely free," says the same human resources agency.

According to a recent report by Arab News, a significant increase in nurses, technicians and medical staff is essential to plug the Kingdom’s chronic bed shortfall — with more incentives, such as easing visa regulations, being suggested as ways of attracting and retaining overseas expertise.

The Kingdom will also need an additional 10,000 doctors by 2020 and twice that many by 2030 to meet the needs of its growing population.
