Portugal — Association launches information campaign on drugs and alcohol

03 February 2010

The Association of Private Employment Agencies (Apespe) has decided to run an information campaign among temporary employment agencies, temporary workers and employers on the prevention of drug and alcohol consumption at work.

The campaign will be run in collaboration with the government's Safety at Work Department (ACT) and the Drugs and Drug Addiction Institute (IDT). The campaign will involve the training of temporary employment agency staff on how to prevent the use of drugs and alcohol at work and how to deal with people who are under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Apespe will also publish a so-called 'Small SOS Guide' (Pequeno Guia SOS) to be used by the consultants of temporary employment agencies who have contracts in the public sector.
