Poland – Employees not afraid of losing their jobs, job turnover lower than European average

13 October 2017

The majority of employees in Poland (three of four) are not afraid of losing their jobs, according to a Labour Market Monitor from Randstad Poland.

The report, based on a survey, showed that 23% of respondents felt at risk of losing their job. This was the lowest figure in the monitor’s seven-year history.

Meanwhile, turnover is also at its lowest level in the monitor’s history with 20% of respondents in Poland stating they have recently changed their place of employment or position. This percentage is lower than the European average. Randstad Poland states that in the previous edition of the study, Poland’s percentage was the highest in Europe. This year, the highest job turnover was recorded in France (23%), Great Britain (22%) and Switzerland (22%).

The survey also showed that 76% of Poles are not satisfied with their current job. This figure was topped by Denmark (83%) and Norway (78%).

Randstad Poland’s Labour Market Monitor also reported that nearly three quarters of respondents feel the need to refresh and upgrade their skills to remain competitive in the labour market. Poles usually choose to study or participate in training (35%). Meanwhile, 32% of respondents believe that their current employers do not properly care about their skills development.
