Online staffing provider Upwork Inc., the largest global, B2B-focused human cloud platform, named Tim Sanders as VP of customer insights. Sanders has more than 25 years of experience, including serving as chief solutions officer at Yahoo. He is also the author of several books, including Love Is the Killer App: How to Win Business and Influence Friends, co-authored with Gene Stone, as well as Dealstorming. Sanders’ role will include leading enterprises in their adoption of Upwork and developing key insights for and about Upwork customers. “I’ve been in love with Upwork for a few years as a customer and recently consulting to its team,” Sanders said. “The more I learned about Upwork’s culture, vision and capabilities, the more I wanted to be part of this journey.”

Executive search firm Pedersen & Partners announced that Zak Marar was promoted to country manager for the United Arab Emirates and head of the Middle East and North Africa. Michael Al-Nassir, partner and head of Middle East, Africa, central and south Asia, who has led the Dubai office since 2008, will continue to build the firm’s presence regionally. In addition, Pedersen & Partners promoted Lydia van der Meulen to global head of its life science and healthcare practice group.

Recruitment firm Cobalt announced that Managing Director Nick Powell is head of its first US office in New York. The US office adds to Cobalt’s 11 established offices in the UK, Germany, Singapore and New Zealand.

Staffing software supplier Bullhorn appointed Kristin Machacek Leary as its chief people officer. Leary will be based in Boston and serve on the company’s senior leadership team. She previously served as chief human resources officer at Hitachi Vantara and spent more than two years as chief human resources officer at Forcepoint.

Candidate.ID named Doug Sawers as company chair. Sawers is a chartered accountant and has nearly 30 years of board-level experience. Candidate.ID describes itself a software provider that provides marketing automation to recruitment. It is based in the UK.

UK-based job board CV-Library appointed Matthew Moore as managing director. Moore’s previous role was as finance and HR director.
