People – The Adecco Group, Harvey Nash, Huntress Search, FCSA, Sonovate

The Adecco Group announced this morning that Ralf Weissbeck will be appointed Group Chief Information Officer reporting to Group CEO, Alain Dehaze, effective from 1 January 2020. Weissbeck joined the Adecco Group in February 2019 as Chief Technology Officer, responsible for the Company’s corporate IT infrastructure, enterprise architecture and global solution delivery management. He succeeds existing CIO, Rob James, who has decided to leave the role for personal health reasons, effective 31 December 2019. James will also leave the company’s Executive Committee but will take on the leadership of the global flagship Adecco Foundation programme, Win4Youth, which encourages Adecco employees to complete in sporting challenges and engage their clients and associates to follow in order to raise funds for charity.

The Harvey Nash Group announced that Simon Wassall will step down, effective 30 November, from his role as CEO, technology recruitment UK, Australia, Ireland and Central Europe. A succession process is underway. “Simon has been a huge asset to the business over the last 25 years,” Group CEO Albert Ellis said. “Simon established the client relationship-based culture within our technology recruitment business, creating, empowering, developing and supporting his loyal leaders and their teams to become some of the most successful leaders in the industry, an important part of the team which created the billion-pound business it is today,” Ellis said.

Huntress Search Ltd. appointed Alex Hutchings as managing director. Hutchings will focus on developing Huntress’ London technology specialist brand. He joins the company after previously serving as director at Harnham. “I’m proud to be returning to Huntress at what is a very exciting period of growth for us,” Hutchings said. “My role will be to expand and develop the offering of Huntress’ teams in London and in time to do the same for our specialist brands.”

The Freelancer and Contractor Services Association Ltd. announced last week that three new executives will join its board: Mark Beal-Preston from Optionis, Tim Hunt from Mango Pay and Joe Taffurelli from Liquid Friday. They will join current board members Chris James from JSA, Matt Fryer from Brookson, Colin Gunnel from Boox and Louise Rayner from NumberMill.

Sonovate named Bob Strudwick as its chief technology officer. Strudwick has more than 30 years of experience and most recently served as chief technology officer at online fashion retailer Asos. Sonovate provides invoice financing and back-office services for contract recruitment agencies and consultancies. The appointment of Strudwick follows Sonovate’s recent debt-and-equity funding round of £110 million.
