People – REC, Alexander Mann Solutions, SF Recruitment, Finlay James

The Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) has announced the results of its Council elections at its Annual General Meeting. The newly-elected Council will guide the activities of the REC for 2019-20.

Chris Moore has been re-elected as REC Chair, having served on the Council since 2013. Rebekah Handford, Managing Director of Highpoint Recruitment Consultants, has also been re-elected to the Council and retains her position as Chair of the REC’s Professional Standards Committee, where she will continue to champion high standards and good practice in the recruitment industry. 

Six new directors have joined the Council:

  • Daniel Brooks, CEO of Virtual Human Resources – VHR are prominent supporters of ethical recruitment, and Danny aims to use his position to help improve the image of the industry’s working practices and drive diverse leadership.
  • Alex Fleming, President of Staffing and Solutions and Country Head, The Adecco Group UK & Ireland – Alex is passionate about improving workplace culture and helping employees to thrive, and she will continue to advocate training and development, coaching and mentoring in the staffing industry.
  • Stuart Moore, Managing Director of Plus One Personnel – Stuart was nominated to represent independent recruitment agency owners like himself, as well as to continue to improve the recruitment industry’s professional reputation.
  •  Mandy Purdie, Managing Director of RSE Group – Mandy aims to encourage recruiters to actively get involved in careers advice and interview training in schools and colleges, to help build the UK’s future workforce.
  • Gary Taylor, Managing Partner at Victoria Janus & Associates – key issues on Gary’s radar include championing quality recruitment, and working to make sure that SMEs in the industry are given the voice they deserve.
  • Simon Winfield, Managing Director of Hays UK & Ireland – Simon shares the REC’s mission to ensure strong representation for the industry on issues like IR35, helping to influence and shape legislation from the outset.

Alexander Mann Solutions, the provider of global talent acquisition and management solutions, announced the appointment of Danielle Khan as Client Services Director to support its significant growth in the Asia Pacific region. Khan will have particular oversight of clients in the Financial Services sector.

SF Recruitment announced that it appointed Jo Eaton as the Operations Director of the Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Region. In addition, she also manages the senior interim Finance & Accountancy market across Nottingham. Her promotion has taken place alongside that of Mike Lattimer, who has also been announced as operations director for SF Recruitments’ Birmingham office.

Technology recruitment firm Finlay James appointed Andrew MacAskill as its new chief commercial officer. MacAskill will serve on the Finlay James board alongside owners John and Sara Gaughan and Managing Director James May. MacAskill most recently served as managing director for EO Executives.
