Netherlands – Westerduin Group acquires Ad hoc Teacher

19 June 2019

The Westerduin Group, a Netherlands HR firm, announced that it acquired Ad hoc Teacher (adhocdocent), an education recruitment firm also based in the Netherlands.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Ad hoc Teacher has been active as a service provider in the education sector since 2009 and will continue to operate under its own name.

Among Ad hoc Teacher’s services are recruitment, payroll, secondment, tutoring, exams and lessons.

According to the Westerduin Group, the acquisition “fits in perfectly with Westerduin Group's strategy to grow further into the HR partner of its clients in the temporary employment sector.”

Marianne Kleppe, CEO of Ad hoc Teacher, said the acquisition “allows us to better serve educational institutions in the middle and east of the Netherlands. "

“With the acquisition we hope to further expand and professionalize our services. The acquisition also made it possible to open a new branch in the city of Apeldoorn,” Kleppe said.

Westerduin operates in the construction, greenery, logistics and technology sectors as well as the education and healthcare sectors.

“There is an increasing need for well-qualified teachers,” Maarten Westerduin, CEO of Westerduin Group, said. “Thanks to the acquisition, Ad hoc Teacher can focus even more on and specialise in what they are good at.”

With the takeover, Westerduin Group is now an umbrella organisation for four companies with 70 Full time employees. The company said it is now a medium-sized player in the flex industry.
