Netherlands – Temp workers hours increase, turnover up in fourth period

Hours worked by temporary workers grew by 12% while turnover increased by 13% in the fourth period (weeks 13-16) compared to the same period last year according to the market developments report by the Dutch Federation of Private Employment Agencies (ABU).

This period had an equal amount of workable days compared to the same period last year, so no correction was applied.

Temporary workers in the administrative sector increased 14% in hours worked and turnover also grew 14% in comparison to the same period in 2015.

In the industrial sector, hours worked increased by 10% and turnover increased 12% compared to the same period last year.

Furthermore, the amount of worked hours in the technical sector increased 9% and turnover increased 15% compared to the same period last year.

Every four weeks, ABU members deliver their turnover and working hours to the research firm, TNS-NIPO, which, in turn, produces the ABU-Marktmonitor.
