Netherlands – Staffing growth up

14 June 2016

According to the Dutch Federation of Private Employment Agencies (ABU), hours worked by temporary workers increased by 10% and turnover grew 11% in period 5 (weeks 17-20) in comparison to the same period last year.

ABU divides the year into four-week periods reported, with the 5th period the most recently ended. This period had an equal amount of workable days compared to the same period last year, so no correction was applied.

Temporary workers in the administrative sector grew by 13% in hours worked, and turnover grew 10% in comparison to the same period in 2015. In the industrial sector, hours worked increased by 8% and turnover by 10% compared to the same period last year. In the technical sector, hours worked grew by 6% and turnover increased 13%.

Every four weeks, ABU members deliver their turnover and working hours to the research firm, TNS-NIPO, who, in turn, produce the ABU-Marktmonitor. It is claimed that the monitor contains more than 60% of the total staffing industry in the Netherlands.
