Netherlands – Nearly half of workers say they would be open to switch jobs for an attractive offer

09 March 2023

Nearly half, or 46%, of workers in the Netherlands, are latent job seekers, meaning they are not actively looking around for jobs, but are open to an attractive offer, according to a survey by HR service provider Visma.

The survey was conducted among 1,154 workers and 445 HR professionals.

Meanwhile, one in three workers (34%) says they have been hesitating lately to switch to another employer while 10% of worker said they are already actively looking for another job.

The study suggested that its figures, which showed that workers are open to working for a new employer, may be due to the HR focus of organisations. “This is emphatically about attracting new talent and onboarding new employees,” the study stated. Of the HR professionals, 40% and 38%, respectively, say that their organisation wants to pay more attention to this in 2023.

The focus from HR professionals on attracting talent and onboarding supersedes the interest in evaluating whether ‘someone is still in the right place' (27%), 'drawing up a development plan' (26%), 'growth in salary or bonus for good performance' (25%) and 'offering career opportunities (18%).
