Netherlands – Job vacancies up in Q2

The number of job vacancies grew by 16,000 in Q2 2018 when compared to the previous quarter, according to data from Statistics Netherlands.

At the end of the second quarter, there were 251,000 job vacancies, with growth continuing for five years now.

Meanwhile, in Q2 2018, the number of full-time and part-time jobs held by employees and self-employed rose by 52,000 compared to the previous quarter. It is the seventh consecutive quarter that job growth has exceeded 50,000.

The total number of hours worked by employees and self-employed reached 3.4 billion in Q2 2018. When adjusted for seasonal effects, this is 0.6% more than in Q1 2018.

In August, 353,000 people were unemployed and the unemployment rate was 3.9%, a rate that has been stable for six months.
