Netherlands – Job vacancies up by a quarter

The total number of job vacancies posted online in the Netherlands increased by 26% in Q2 2015, compared with the same quarter in 2014, according to data from CV parsing and semantic search & match software provider Textkernal.

There were 2.6 million job adverts posted online in the three months ending 30 June 2015. Once duplicates were removed, total unique job adverts numbered 388,311 for the quarter.

Each vacancy was posted online an average 6.8 times, up from 4.9 times in Q2 2014.

The top three most sought after professions were customer service representatives, software engineers, and account managers.

Retail was the top sector for vacancies, accounting for 20.3% of all jobs advertised. It was followed by Healthcare/Welfare (12.8%), and Education/Research (10.4%).

More than half of all vacancies were concentrated in three of the Netherlands’ 12 regions: Zuid (South) Holland (20.3%), Noord (North) Holland (20.1%), and Noord Brabant (16%).
