Lithuania – One in two employers plan to raise salaries this year

05 April 2018

Half of Lithuanian businesses are planning to raise wages for their employees this year, according to survey data from the Bank of Lithuania.

The Bank of Lithuania’s survey revealed that 50% of enterprises that promise to raise wages is the largest in over two years. Last year’s survey showed this figure was only 37.3%.

Within the services, trade and industrial sectors, the share of firms that intend to raise wages over the next six months was 52%, while that of construction enterprises was smaller (42%).

Compared to the results of the previous survey, the share of medium-sized businesses (10–50 employees) that intend to raise wages grew from 42% to 58%, while that of small-sized enterprises (up to 10 employees) increased from 24.3% to 40.8%.
