Latvia – Unemployment rate falls slightly

The Registered unemployment in Latvia fell to 9.1% in March, from 9.2% in February, according to the Latvian State Employment Agency.

In March, there were 85,414 people registered with the State Employment Agency as unemployed compared to 86,581 registered jobless in February.

Among the regions, the Riga Region had the lowest unemployment level in late March this year at 5.7%, while Latgale province in eastern Latvia had the highest rate at 19.1%.

Among the cities, Riga had the lowest unemployment rate at 5.3%, while highest unemployment rate was registered in Rezekne in eastern Latvia at 17.6%.
