Danish job board Jobindex posted 24,200 new job advertisements online in June 2023 on a seasonally adjusted basis.

The 24,200 figure was a further fall from the 24,800 recorded in May 2023, as well as a further decline from 25,000 in April.

Jobindex noted that although since the beginning of last year there has been a significant drop in the number of job adverts placed online, the level should not be considered ‘low’. The number of new job advertisements have fallen back to the level in 2018 before the pandemic.

By sector, the decline in the Danish Job Index was broadly felt within most sectors in the second quarter of 2023 (including April, May and June) when compared to Q1, however there was growth seen in the pharmaceutical sector.

The job board also noted that the fall in the number of new job advertisements means that it is uncertain whether the increase in employment will continue or whether unemployment will continue to rise. The unemployment figures have increased by approximately 10,000 people last year.
