Italy – Temporary agency workers up 23.2% in February

The number of temporary agency workers in Italy for February 2018 increased by 23.2% on an annual basis, according to figures from Ebitemp, the bilateral organisation for temporary employment representing employers’ associations and unions.

Ebitemp figures also showed that the total payroll of temporary workers in February increased by 22.7% compared to the same month last year.

The number of hours worked in February rose by 22% on an annual basis. Broken down by hours worked per worker, this figure decreased by -1.0% compared to last year.

Italy’s unemployment rate in February stood at 10.9%, according to Eurostat figures.
