Ireland – Number of IT jobs increases by 20%

14 October 2016

Between 2010 and 2015, the number of companies employing IT staff in Ireland increased by 20%, according to data from Irish recruitment firm Recruiters.

Over the same period of five years, 9,500 new jobs were created all over the country, culminating in 59,000 people employed in IT occupations in 2015. The trend is continuing as in 2015 there were more than 7,000 IT jobs advertised through Irish portals.

"The report quantifies our Irish economic recovery and highlights areas such as ICT where we see job massive creation,” Managing Director of Recruiters, Gerard Doyle said. “With improved job prospects across the sector, challenges with keeping up with demand are emerging."
