India – ManpowerGroup appoints new MD

18 December 2012

The former chief technology officer of Tata Teleservices, A.G. Rao, has been appointed to managing director for ManpowerGroup in India, replacing Sanjay Pandit. The local press reports that Mr Rao left his position at Tata last week.

The Times of India said that Mr Rao joined ManpowerGroup on 14 December.

“After working in the telecom industry for almost 21 years in the area of business, technology, IT and various things, I thought it was time for me to take another challenging assignment. ManpowerGroup wants to make a big impression in the area of IT, especially IT outsourcing and IT solutions,” said Mr Rao.

ManpowerGroup is the third-largest recruiter in the world and operates from 12 cities in India where it focuses on engineering, IT and healthcare sectors.

The firm has restructured its management board in the past months. In November, it announced  the departure of Francoise Gri, the firm’s president of Southern Europe. Chairman and CEO, Jeff Joerres, has also passed on his President title to Jonas Prising and Darryl Green in November. Spain’s CEO, Carmen Mur, left the company after 25 years.
