Greece – Half of new private sector jobs are part-time and below minimum wage (Greek Reporter)

Half of new jobs in Greece’s private sector are part-time and fall under the minimum wage, according to data from ERGANI published in the Greek Reporter.  The figures for the period from January to May 2017 showed that 924,321 jobs were created, of which 459,888 are full-time and 464,433 positions are part-time. Of the full-time jobs, more than 70% pay slightly above or below minimum wage. According to Eurostat, the statistical body of the European Union, the minimum wage in Greece is €683.76 per month.
