Global – People: Health and Safety Executive, Adcorp, Fircroft, Boyden and ZRG

The UK Health and Safety Executive appointed gig economy and mental health experts to its independent Workplace Health Expert Committee, which provides expert opinion to the HSE. The first is Dr. Joanna Wilde, who has specialist expertise in the behavioural and social sciences and is an expert in the effect of psychosocial factors on workplace health. A fellow of the British Psychological Society, her current research focuses on health problems inherent in new structures of working relationships, or the gig economy. The second is Dr. Paul Litchfield, who was formerly chief medical officer for BT and has been active in the field of workplace health and safety for more than 35 years.

South Africa-based recruitment firm Adcorp Holdings Limited announced that Herman Singh and Phumla Mnganga have been appointed as independent, nonexecutive directors. In addition, Mark Jurgens resigned as a director of Adcorp effective Thursday; Jurgens will remain employed by Adcorp, heading up its Australian operations. Singh is currently deputy chairman of Jumia, Africa’s largest e-commerce company. Mnganga is the founder and managing director of Lehumo Women’s Investment Holdings, a women-owned and managed investment holding company.

Engineering recruitment firm Fircroft appointed Leonie Williams to the newly created role of board director for human resources. Williams has multi-disciplinary global experience across the automotive, manufacturing, consumer, aviation and supply chain sectors. She most recently was HR director for global airline Thomas Cook; before that, she was responsible for talent development at the Volkswagen Group, having spent more than 16 years with luxury automotive retailer Bentley Motors.

Boyden, a global executive search firm, announced Morten Winther and Henrik Harbo joined the organization as managing partners to lead its Denmark operations. Additionally, Marika Grote will serve as a principal and head of research.

ZRG Partners announced Alex Bennett joined the executive search firm as a managing director and chief growth officer. He will work in the firm’s London office, where he will continue to support global medical devices, medical technology and diagnostic clients. Prior to joining ZRG, Bennett was CEO of RSA Group, a London-based life science search boutique.

Plum Personnel, headquartered in West Midlands, Solihull, announced Recruitment Consultant Lindsey Atkins is now heading up its temporary division. She will work with clients in both the NHS and private sectors across office-based roles including administration, customer services, finance, human resources, and sales and marketing.
