Solo self-employed workers at German companies tend to play an important role in the introduction of new technology to the companies, according to a report from the Institut der deutschen Wirtschaft Köln e.V. (IW). It noted German companies tend to rely on self-employed workers from outside when they need additional resources for a limited time and can obtain external staff quickly.
