One in two employees in Germany are satisfied with their job, according to a Job Satisfaction 2016 report from ManpowerGroup Germany.

The report also shows that 44% of employees would switch jobs within the next 12 months.

The reasons cited for employee dissatisfaction are: 87% of respondents said that there are no professional career progression opportunities at their current employer. Meanwhile, 73% of employees rate their companies as not family friendly. The study also showed that 72% of companies do not offer flexible working hours for employees with children.

“In Germany companies flexible working hours for parents are still a rare commodity. Only 28% of companies offer a family compatible working model. More than a third of employers do not take a single measure to assist families (36%). Such behavior may quickly have a negative impact on the operating results and the working environment,” Herwarth Brune, Chief Executive Officer of ManpowerGroup Germany, said.
