18 January 2017

German lawmakers plan to create a legal framework for sharing economy companies such as Uber, Handelsblatt Global reports. Germany’s ruling parties want new rules on sharing platforms to be introduced before the end of the current parliamentary term in September. Firms such as Uber operate in the human cloud segment of the gig economy. The new legal framework under consideration in Germany would also include AirBnB, which is part of the sharing economy, but not part of the gig economy.
