Germany – Court bans Uber, saying it lacks necessary licence (Reuters)

19 December 2019

Uber Technologies Inc.’s ride-sharing service was banned on Thursday by a court in Germany, saying it lacks a necessary licence to offer passenger transport using rental cars, Reuters reported. Human-cloud firm Uber operates in seven Germany cities and its service there works exclusively with car rental companies and their licenced drivers. A court had previously prohibited Uber from matching customers with drivers using their own cars. The decision comes as Uber also fights to renew its licence in London.
