France – Total employment rises in Q3, but temp jobs fall by 0.4%

Total payroll jobs in France rose by 0.2% in the third quarter to 25.4 million, but temporary employment fell by 0.4%, or 2,900 jobs, to a total of 790,700 jobs, according to data released on Tuesday by INSEE, France’s national institute of statistics and economic studies.

Year over year, temporary employment fell by 1.0%, or 8,000 jobs.

Temporary employment was the only sector measured by INSEE to record a month-over-month decline in jobs during the third quarter.

Total payroll jobs in France rose by 0.2%, or 42,300, in the third quarter, according to INSEE. Looking at just the private sector, payroll employment increased by 0.2%, or 33,700 jobs, in the third quarter and was up by 0.5%, or 231,000 jobs, on a year-over-year basis.
