Temporary workers without official papers (Sans-papiers) are still occupying temporary employment agencies in order to protest against their treatment by the French authorities, Le Nouvel Observateur reports.
The offices of temporary staffing agencies Synergie, CRIT Interim and Vediorbis in Nogent-sur-Oise, north of Paris are being occupied by roughly 100 foreign temporary employees who are fighting for their legal rights to officially live and work in France.
The striker's spokesman told the press "I have been working for temporary employment agencies in France for seven years now. I pay my taxes and my social security but I have no rights [in this country] whatsoever."
The strike by temporary employees without official papers has now been going on for one month. 5,000 temporary employees without official papers have occupied offices of companies in 38 regions of France. The strikes are supported by major union CGT and other human rights organisations.
