France – Temporary employment up in July

Temporary employment in France grew by 8.4% in July compared to last year, according to data from Prism’Emploi, the French association of employment agencies.

The data from Prism’Emploi also showed that temporary employment grew by 8% during the first seven months of 2017.

Temporary employment rose in all sectors in July compared to the previous year including in transport (16.3%), construction (5.1%), industry (8.4%), commerce (7.3 %) and services (5.6%).

Meanwhile, temporary employment increased on an annual basis for middle management and professionals (11.9%), unskilled workers (8.7%), employees (8.7%) and skilled workers (6.7%).

Among the regions, all of them showed growth with the number of temporary workers increasing the most in Brittany (16%) and Burgundy-France-Comté (14.5%).
