France – Temporary employment up in January

Temporary employment in France grew by 8% in January compared to last year, according to data from Prism’Emploi, the French association of employment agencies.

The data from Prism’ Emploi showed that temporary employment grew in the industrial sector (9.4%), construction (7.6%), services (6.4%), and trade (3.1%) sectors. The transportation sector slowed to 8.8% after an increase of 14.3% in December.

Meanwhile, temporary employment grew in middle management and professionals (11.8%), skilled workers (11.3%), unskilled workers (5.2%) and employees (3.4 %).

Among the regions, temporary workers increased the most in Pays de la Loire (12.2%), in Occitan (12.0%) and Normandy (10.5%).
