France – Temporary employment increases in June

Temporary employment in France grew by 5.7% in June, compared to the same period last year, according to data from Prism’Emploi, the French association of employment agencies.

The data also showed that temporary employment for the first half of 2016 grew by 5.8%, a slower rate than H1 2015 (6.1%).

Temporary employment is now at about 10% below its level before the 2008-2009 crisis.

Temporary employment saw its biggest increase in the transport sector at 12.3% followed by 10.3% in services and by a 3.5% drop in trade.

Temporary employment is growing among skilled workers (+ 9.8%), middle managers and professionals (8.4%), employees (+ 4.8%) and unskilled workers (+2.0 %).

Among the regions, the number of temporary workers increased the most in Ile-de-France (17.2%).
