France – Temporary employment falls 3.4% in June: Prism Emploi

The number of temporary workers in France decreased by 3.4% year-over-year in May 2019, according to the latest Barometer report by Prism’Emploi, the French association of employment agencies.

There was no change when compared to the previous month.

Among the sectors, temporary employment rose in services (7.7%), construction (3.7%) and trade (0.4%), but continued its decline in industry (-7.5%) and transport (-10.0%).

Among occupations, temporary employment increased among managers and intermediate occupations (5.6%). On the other hand, it declined among employees (-0.2%), unskilled workers (-4.3%) and skilled workers (-6.7%).

In June 2019, the region with the highest increase was Brittany (1.6%) which was followed by Ile De France (0.2%). The rest of the regions showed a decrease.
