France – Temporary employment down 4.3%: Prism’Emploi

The number of temporary workers in France decreased by 4.3% year-over-year in August 2019, according to the latest Barometer report by Prism’Emploi, the French association of employment agencies.

Among the sectors, temporary employment increased in services (3.3%), but decreased in construction (- 3.2%), trade (-4.4%), transport (-5.5%) and industry (-6.8%).

Among occupations, temporary employment increased among managers and intermediate professions (4.3%). It fell among employees (-3.1%), unskilled workers (-3.8%) and skilled workers (-8.9%).

In August 2019, the only region that reported growth was Brittany (1.4%) while the rest of the regions showed a decrease. The most significant drop was reported in Centre Val de Loire (-6.7%).
