Sopra Steria (EPS: SOP) is selling its recruitment subsidiary in the UK to Resource Solutions Group. Paris-based Sopra Steria announced the deal last week, and it is expected to close in the next few weeks.

The recruitment operations came under Sopra Steria’s ownership in 2007 when it acquired Xansa. The UK business provided €129 million in revenue and €2 million in net income to Sopra Steria’s earnings.

Plans now call for Sopra Steria to focus its priorities in the UK on scaling up its digital and consulting offerings as well as strengthening its foothold in the private sector, particularly in financial services.

It noted that in the wake of the deal, Sopra Steria Recruitment Limited will have no right to represent any member of the Sopra Steria Group and vice versa.
