Local temporary employment agencies have been left out in the cold during the public tender for the recruitment of temporary staff for the new A-65 motorway in France.

The new motorway is the largest public construction project currently undertaken by the government and requires more than a thousand temporary workers over the duration of the project.
Marie-Elise Casu of regional temporary staffing agency Atmos Interim told the Sud Ouest newspaper, "why did the independent local temporary staffing agencies not get a part of the cake? We met the representative of the Public Works Department (TP) who told us that we would need to sign an overall contract agreement with TP but when we contacted purchasing we were given a clear no, even though we have the qualified personnel available. Local agencies were not even considered. It all went to the large national chains."
