France – Prism’Emploi re-elects President

22 June 2021

Prism’Emploi, the French association of employment agencies, announced that it has re-elected Gilles Lafon as president for the eighth consecutive year.

Lafon is an experienced professional in the temporary employment sector having been General Director of the temporary work branch for the ONET Group, President of the Professional Fund for Employment in Temporary Work (FPE TT) as well as President of the Temporary Social Action Fund (Fastt). He has also been a member of the Executive Council of employer federation MEDEF (Movement of the Enterprises of France) since 2008. He was Vice-President of Prism'emploi from 2007 to 2013, then President since 2013.

“I am delighted and proud to be able to continue to represent interim and recruiting professionals,” Lafon said. “I would particularly like to salute the dynamic and effective social dialogue that we have conducted between social partners in the branch to ensure the protection of employees and companies in this unprecedented economic and social crisis. I pledge to continue to nurture this mobilisation and to work hand in hand with all stakeholders to provide solutions, support and responses to all those who will need our support. The temporary and recruitment sector offers solutions to contribute to the recovery, and will play its part in it.”

Earlier this year, Prism’Emploi and Pôle Emploi, the French government agency that registers unemployed people, announced the signing of a three-year national framework agreement to strengthen their cooperation.

The two organisations plan to jointly mobilise their resources and expertise to improve the return to employment of jobseekers and temporary workers as well meeting recruitment needs for companies.

Lafon commented on the challenges of 2021 and said that the association will continue its commitments in vocational training to support the transitions of its employees.

“Our ambitious partnership with Pôle emploi will be an asset in finding solutions adapted to the needs and skills of each individual. Our sector knows how to demonstrate innovation and creativity for the employment of young people, seniors and professional categories furthest from employment. This is the roadmap that I have set for this year, and I know that I can count on the dedication of each of the players to get out of this crisis quickly.”
