France – Prism'Emploi: Number of temporary workers in May, Gilles Lafon re-elected as President

The number of temporary workers in France rose by 2.2% year over year in May, according to the Barometer report by Prism’Emploi, the French association of employment agencies.

All sectors reported an increase with the exception of the construction industry which reported a decline of 6.4% in May when compared to the previous year.

The transport and logistics sector saw its temporary workforce increase by 14.1% in May. Services recorded an increase in temporary employment of 4.5%, which was followed by trade (2.0%) and the industrial sector (0.8%).

According to Prism’Emploi, all occupational categories reported growth in their temporary workforce. Temp employment grew by 8.1% for employees, by 4.4% for executives and intermediate occupations, which rose + 4.4% and 0.6% and 1.5% for skilled and unskilled workers, respectively.

Among the regions, the Bourgogne Franche-Comté (7.2%) and Grand-Est (5.3%) regions reported having the biggest increases in temporary employment. above-average trends. On the other hand, Occitania (-4.1%), Brittany (-1.9%) and New Aquitaine (-0.7%), reported a reduction in the number of temporary employees.

Separately, Prism’Emploi announced that Gilles Lafon was re-elected President for the fifth consecutive year.

Lafon is a seasoned professional in the temporary employment sector having been General Director of the temporary work branch for the ONET Group, President of the Professional Fund for Employment in Temporary Work (FPE TT) as well as President of the Temporary Social Action Fund (Fastt).
