France – Groupe Crit fourth-quarter revenue rises 2%

French staffing firm Groupe Crit reported revenue increased by 2.0% in the fourth quarter when adjusting for constant currency and acquisitions to a total of €632.7 million.

The company also reported revenue for the full year 2018 of €2.49 billion, up 3.7% when adjusting for constant currency and acquisitions.

In France (76.5% of total group revenue), revenue was up 4.5% to €1.91 billion (up 1.9% in Q4). International revenue amounted to €586.0 million, by 1.9%, when adjusting for constant currency and acquisitions. International revenue was impacted by unfavourable exchange rates.

Groupe Crit operates in two divisions: staffing & recruitment division and multi-services division.

The company’s French staffing operations posted revenue growth on an organic basis of 2.8% in 2018 to €1.57 billion.

International revenue amounted to €493.1 million, slightly down by 1.4%, impacted by unfavourable exchanges rates. On a like-for-like basis and adjusted for constant foreign exchange, full-year international revenue increased by 1.2%. Groupe Crit reported revenue in its US business operations returned to organic growth in 2018, posting an increase of 2.2%.

Multi-services division annual revenue recorded a growth up 11.4% to €459.6 million. Fourth-quarter revenue amounted to €120.2 million, rising by 14.8% (up 13.0% when adjusting for constant currency and acquisitions).

French activities within the Multi-services division posted annual revenue of €262.9 million with an annual organic growth 14.2%. International activities were up 6.1% when adjusted for constant currency and acquisitions.

Looking ahead, within the staffing & recruitment activity, despite a less buoyant economic environment, the group is confident in its ability to consolidate its positions in France and abroad.

“In 2019, the group will also be particularly attentive to external growth opportunities that could enable it to strengthen its operations or to establish itself in new countries, particularly in Europe,” the company stated.

In trading yesterday, Groupe Crit shares closed at €51.80, down 0.77% on the day and 9.28% above its 52-week low of €47.40, set on 20 December 2018. Based on its current share price the company has a market value of €587.25 million.
