Gi Group, a large, Milan, Italy-based staffing provider, has acquired French staffing operations Axxis Intérim & Recrutement, Axxis Formation and SES Recrutement from Groupe Onet.

“We were looking for a leading industrial partner for our subsidiary Axxis so that it can continue its development,” Onet CEO Emilie De Lombares said. “We are glad to have found this in GI Group. Axxis will remain a key supplier-partner of the Onet Group in order to benefit from the strong skills offered to its customers and in particular its expertise in specialty businesses.”

Axxis operates 54 branches throughout France and serves more than 1,700 clients.

“This acquisition allows us to improve our positioning and be even more competitive in France, a country that is very important to us,” Gi Group CEO and President Stefano Colli-Lanzi said. “It also further strengthens our position as a global player in the HR services sector, and is in line with our medium-term objective of reaching EUR 6 billion in turnover by 2023.”

Gi Group was advised by Blackwood Capital Group, and the acquisition was made with the legal consultancy of Baker McKenzie Paris.
