France – French labour market optimistic, hiring to increase

04 October 2016

International recruitment firm Robert Half has published the 16th edition of its study of compensation and trends in the labour market in France.

The study shows that hiring and remuneration has increased for the sectors of corporate finance, technology, legal and human resources.

"The year 2017 should be part of a growth momentum and on the employment front, the good news is that hiring is up,” Olivier Gelis, CEO of Robert Half France, said. “We are witnessing a continuation of hiring with increased job creations in our specialties. In the same vein, the remunerations are projected to grow.”

According to Robert Half France, within the accounting sector, companies are looking for more qualified positions (analysis, foreign languages) and as such must raise salaries. Within payroll positions, there is a shortage of talent, which has led to increased demand and an increased salary for the role of payroll manager (6.6%).

The positions that are due to receive the largest increase in remuneration are the social media manager (14.5%) and traffic manager (16.5%), compared to the previous year.

The increases in hiring are seen in both permanent and temporary/contract positions.
