France – Ergalis enters top 10 with Aura Staffing acquisition

05 December 2012

French temporary staffing specialist Ergalis has acquired HR provider Aura Staffing with the firm claiming to have now entered the top-10 of the largest recruitment companies in the country.

Ergalis was founded in 2010 by investment firm Activa Capital which took over Randstad subsidiary Selpro in the same year. The firm was tipped to buy Aura in late October, and has now formalised the deal.

Aura Staffing is a temporary employment and recruitment agency specialising in management and technical positions. It made revenues of €54 million last year.

“The acquisition puts Ergalis group in the Top-10 players within the French HR market boasting a high degree of sector specialisation, in particular in banking and finance, medical, cosmetics and now engineering and IT thanks to Aura Staffing,” the firm said.

Ergalis group revenues are said to be €180 million, with the firm now competing with market players such as Michael Page and Kelly Services. With revenues of €120 million last year, the firm just missed the top-20 in Staffing Industry Analysts’ 2011 ranking of largest staffing companies in France.

“Thirty months after Ergalis was established, the growth strategy implemented by Activa Capital has demonstrated its effectiveness. We are delighted to see Ergalis become one of the leaders in its sector in France. We continue to study further acquisition opportunities whilst promoting continued strong organic growth,” said Activa Capital Partner, Philippe Latorre.

More recently, Ergalis bought three staffing providers in July, including TalentPeople. This followed the acquisition of Intérim Medical Service (IMS) in the first half of the year.
