France – Adecco launches Modis

04 April 2012

Adecco announced this week that it is launching its IT services brand Modis in France. The new entity will result from the integration of the brands Ajilon IT Consulting and Datavance.

Ajilon was acquired by Adecco in 1996, it is present in the North and the East of the French territory and provides IT services to the manufacturing sector. Datavance was acquired by Adecco in 2008; it is mostly present in the Ile-de-France region and specialises in Java, JEE and DotNet development. The new entity will be managed by Hugues Pariot, who previously served as a Managing Director for Expectra (now part of Randstad) and Regus, and as sales director for SFR and Debitel.

Modis is the IT services arm of Adecco; previously part of the MPS group (acquired by Adecco in 2009), it is present in 18 countries and accounted for €1.2 billion of revenue in 2011. Modis France will have a 1,600 strong headcount and is expected to generate annual revenues of €120 million.

According to Hugues Pariot, “the fusion was motivated by synergies on four levels: business, location, technology and competences. With the new entity, Adecco will jump from the 50th to the 35th position in the ranking of the largest IT services firms in the French market”.
