Finnish businesses support government employment measures (Helsinki Times)

22 January 2024

The majority of businesses are in favour of the Finnish government’s planned employment measures, reports The Helsinki Times, citing a survey by the chambers of commerce. Nationally, 74% of businesses agree with the government's implementation plans. The government's measures, which include reforms to unemployment insurance, increased local bargaining, and limiting political strikes, have been well-received within the business community. The survey reflects a strong consensus among Finnish businesses on the necessity and impact of the government's employment measures.

Finland's new government under prime minister Petteri Orpowas was inaugurated in June 2023 and is regarded as the most right-wing in the country’s recent history.
