“Financial controls, accounting and audit” ranked as the most in-demand skill globally, according to the sixth annual Skills Index report released by Business Talent Group, a Heidrick & Struggles company.
Closely following on the list of most in-demand skills was another finance-related skill: “financial planning, analysis and modeling.”
The 10 most in-demand skills for this year are, according to BTG:
- Financial controls, accounting and audit
- Project management
- Financial planning, analysis and modeling
- Growth strategy
- Organizational design and workforce planning
- Technology and systems implementation
- Market access and value
- Strategic planning
- Operational excellence
- Supply chain
BTG also listed the 10 fastest-growing skills for this year. They are:
- Lean/Six Sigma/total quality management, up 300%
- Divestitures and spinouts, up 200%
- Program management office (PMO), up 156%
- Manufacturing strategy, up 150%
- Risk management, up 150%
- Artificial intelligence and machine learning, up 100%
- Data science, up 100%
- Turnaround and restructuring, up 100%
- Treasury, up 100%
- Channel Management, up 100%
