Europe – Travel retail recruitment firm makes Irish acquisition

Blackjack Promotions announced on Tuesday that it acquired Casey Recruitment, an Ireland-based firm that provides temporary and permanent staff to the retail industry. Blackjack completed the deal on 31 December, and Casey Recruitment is being rebranded as BlackJack Ireland.

Casey Recruitment had a focus on luxury brands, and its clients include L’Oréal, William Grants and Estee Lauder. Casey Managing Director Mary Kelly remains with the firm as head of Blackjack Ireland.

Blackjack reported the deal marks a significant step in expansion plans, extending its reach into Dublin, Shannon and Cork airports.

Blackjack is a provider of travel retail and customer service specialists at airports and claims annual revenue in excess of £175 million on its website. Blackjack was founded in 1995 and acquired by OmniServ Limited, the European division of Air Serv Corporation, owned by ABM, in 2013. Blackjack’s travel retail sector annual income increase by +40% in 2016.

Terms of the transaction were not announced.
