Europe – Tech Roundup: Funding rounds for ride sharing and talent acquisition platforms

12 May 2019

Heetch, a Paris-based human cloud, ride-sharing platform, announced a USD 38 million funding round. Separately, HeyJobs, a Berlin-based firm that matches workers with jobs, reported a USD 12 million funding round.

Here is more on the developments:

Heetch

Human cloud, ride-sharing platform Heetch announced it raised USD 38 million in a series B funding round. The Paris-based company aims to be the leading ride-sharing firm across the French-speaking world; it presently operates in four countries: France, Belgium, Morocco and Ivory Coast.

Heetch aims to use the funding to strengthen its technical team and speed up development in Europe and Africa.

“For a lot of drivers, mobility platforms are distant and impersonal,” co-founder Teddy Pellerin said. “We stand for the opposite. Heetch is an open and people-centric platform; all drivers can meet us and get in touch with me directly.”

The funding round included Cathay Innovation and Total Ventures alongside existing shareholders Idinvest Partners, Innov’Allianz, Alven, Felix Capital and Via-ID.

HeyJobs

HeyJobs, a Berlin-based firm that uses machine learning to match workers with jobs, announced a USD 12 million funding round. The 3-year-old company plans to use the funding to promote the application of artificial intelligence in talent acquisition.

Clients include United Parcel Service, PayPal, Vodafone and others.

HeyJobs founder and CEO Marius Luther said employers have historically had a “post-and-pray” mentality by advertising vacancies on job board and hoping to make hires. Luther said the company aims to improve the experience for both job seekers and companies.

The funding round was led by Notion Capital with participation from existing investors Creathor Ventures, GFC and Heartcore Capital.
