Europe – Number of hours worked by agency workers increases

15 November 2016

The latest Agency Work Business Indicator, published by the World Employment Confederation, formerly known as Eurociett, shows average hours worked by agency workers in Europe recorded a 1.2% increase compared to the same period last year.

The data also showed that Denmark and Italy had the highest growth with +10.3% and +8.1% growth, year-on-year, respectively. The Netherlands, Austria and Belgium followed with 6%, 5.8% and 5.6%, respectively. Norway was the only market to show a decline. Data for Germany is not included due to changes in the collection process at the federal employment agency.

Meanwhile, agency work sales revenues delivered growth across all markets in this period. Poland and Finland led with both recording 17% year-on-year growth. Sweden, Belgium and Italy followed with 10%, 7.6% and 7.5% growth, respectively.
