Europe – Number of hours worked by agency workers increases

The latest European Agency Work Business Indicator (AWBI), published by Eurociett, the European confederation of private employment services, shows an average year-on-year growth of 2.8% in the number of hours worked by Europe’s agency workers.

The June 2016 AWBI shows Poland and the Netherlands as the strongest performing markets recording 15.9% and 10% year-on-year growth, respectively.

The AWBI also showed Denmark and France delivered growth while Switzerland, Italy and Norway experienced market contraction. 

Turnover developments showed year on year growth with Finland and the Netherlands leading with double-digit growth in turnover of 14% and 11% respectively. Only Norway saw a year-on-year contraction in revenues.
